Skipping Christmas

I decided to do things a little differently this year for Christmas. I decided that since the whole fam would be together for New Years, that I would go to Texas then which meant I was on my own for Christmas.

I was talking to my good friend Cassidy one day and when she told me she was doing the same thing...I thought, what the heck! Why not go to Vegas and hang out with Cassidy over Christmas. And I'm so glad I did. I flew in on the 23rd and we spent the day and the next relaxing, watching movies, eating sushi and good food.

Then Christmas morning I woke up when I wanted to, went for a run, we made a delicious breakfast, went to see Sherlock holmes, and then we of course went gambling. Don't worry, we only spent about $5 on slot machines.

For dinner, we went to Serendipity! I had never been to the one in NY so I was excited to go try out the famous frozen hot chocolate.

The food was good, the frozen hot chocolate was better, but the deep fried oreo sundae was to die for!!! Seriously - it was SO good! If you go, skip the frozen hot chocolate and go for the oreos. They will not dissapoint.

Then we enjoyed some free entertainment courtesy of the Bellagio (to Christmas music) and the Mirage Volcano!

The strip was surprising packed with people! Apparently we weren't the only people that thought about going to the strip for Christmas. I think one of the main reasons is that everything (minus the mall) is open.

I even got to see Heather and Kyleen the next day! Heather was down from Utah to spend Christmas with her family.

I honestly had a great time skipping Christmas. It was definitely different than any other year, but I don't regret it one bit. Cassidy was the best host and we had a blast together!
