Thanksgiving Europe Trip...

So - about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, I started looking at ticket prices to fly just about anywhere. I had a ton of vacation days to use up by the end of the year and thought it would be a good idea to take advantage of the Thanksgiving holiday to go somewhere. Turns out you can get pretty cheap tickets places (as long as you are flying outside the US). I first found a ticket to Spain for $450...and was almost going to go there...but then found one to Germany for $375 and decided to buy it about a week before I would actually be getting on the plane. It was very last minute! But i'm so glad i did it...

These were the fools I went with.....Mark and Julie. Julie is a good friend from college. Mark is some guy Julie knows from Utah. I was not the biggest fan of Mark - he was a weird guy. Anyone who gets mad at someone for driving too fast on the Autobahn (not because they fear for the lives..but because they want to save money in gas --and yes, he really did get mad at me for that reason) is a weirdo! I have a long list of why I wasn't the biggest fan of him..but we'll just leave it at that...

Belgium - I had to have Belgium fries while I was there!!! They were good...not fantastic...but they were good.


Belgium Waffles!!!! Ok - this had to be the best thing I ate on the trip! It was sooooooooo good!!!!!!!! I guess I just wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was!


Me and Leslie at the Christmas Market (we stayed with Leslie and her family in Dusseldorf). I LOVED the Christmas markets....Good Food...Cool stuff to buy...it was fun.

So - Highlights of the trip:
1 -Driving as fast as i could on the Autobahn...although are little Opel Meriva just wouldn't go fast enough to me....I had the peddle to the floor and the fastest I got was just barely over 170 km/hr. Not fast enough....but it was still fun! :) (oh - and this is what mark got mad at me for!)
2 - The Food - Belgium waffles, Donner Kabobs, Germany market foods...it was all good.
3 - The Christmas Markets
4 - Seeing Germany in the fall....it is beautiful with all the trees changing colors.
5 - Luxembourg

And the only thing I regret is that Mark came with us.. :) besides that (and the fact that some days were cold and rainy), the trip was fantastic! I definitely want to go back sometime.
