The Foot

I'm not sure what was up with me last year. But it was not a good year for me as far as keeping all my limbs in working order!

While in Vegas, I went on a 12 mile run on the Friday. And I felt great. My feet also felt great. Then the rest of the weekend, we walked A LOT. Up and down the strip. And I wore flip flops just like everyone else. But by Sunday, my foot was starting to bother me. And by the end of the day, it was really bothering me. Then I noticed the next morning that it was even swollen.

I was not happy! I was worried it was a stress fracture. UGH! What was I going to do!?! I was supposed to be running the Athens Marathon in 2 months!

Anyway - after several trips to doctors...and them making me wear this:

And not really figuring out what it was. "It sounds like a stress reaction. Just stay off it" I finally found a doctor that would take an MRI. Turns out - I had tendonitis. All my tendons were inflammed. So - basically he said to take Ibprofen and stay off it and wear good shoes. And he pretty much said "No marathon for you".

Such a bummer. I had trained all the way up to a 17 mile run....and now I just had to stop. All because I wore flip flops in Vegas. And now I can't even wear flip flops anymore. Double bummer.
