Israel

Shortly after I decided to take a little break from work, I found out that a spot had opened up in the Israel/Egypt trip that my institute teacher was taking a bunch of people too. So, what does someone like me do? Well, you buy a ticket and go!

It was quite an adventure! I really need to organize all my pics and write down everything we did....But because I need to get my blog up to date - here are a few of the pics for now!

A view of Jerusalem from the BYU Jerusalem Center.

The Wailing Wall - Very cool experience to see this.

Stepping out of the Garden Tomb.

A few of us just outside the walls to old Jerusalem.

Having fun at the Dead Sea!

The sign says it all...

At Capharnaum

Jordan River - You can see on the right side of the picture someone in the water. All these people would buy these white robes and go immerse themselves in the water. Interesting.

Having a meal in Nazareth - "2000 year old Menu" meal. It was actually really good!

Walking on the Sea of Galilee!

We really did so much.... Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Garden Tomb, Gethsemane, Masada, Dead Sea, Nazareth, Jordan River, Sea of Galilee, Sermon on the Mount... I'm sure I'm not even remembering half the things. It was such an amazing experience to walk where the Savior walked and to experience everything we did. It has made reading the Bible and scriptures that much better because I can picture what I actually saw. Not that you need that - but it's cool now that I have that.

I definitely recommend going to Israel. I didn't feel like I was in danger at all. It's a beautiful country with such amazing history. It's not to be missed if you can make the journey!
