10 Years Later...

Yep that's me in the middle...right after graduation with a bunch of the other fools I graduated with.

And 10 years later.....this is what some of us look like...

Some of the girls

...And some of the guys.

That's right friends...yours truly went to her 10 year high school reunion last month! It's already been 10 years since I graduated from RVRHS! Wow! Where has time gone!?!! It makes me feel old. And it has made me reflect a bit on what I've done over the past 10 years....Overall - I think I've done alright for myself. There are maybe a couple of things I would have done differently...like continued to play bball a little longer than I did. But I don't have any major regrets.

It was so much fun to see my high school friends! Many of them I hadn't seen since High School...and others it has been at least a good 3 or 4 years.

Me, Leslie, and Sharon

Everyone seemed to be doing great. Some were married with kids (more than I expected). Some engaged. Many with great jobs. And some that just hadn't changed! Actually almost everyone looked pretty much the same...the guys were a little more mature looking and girls had changed their hair a bit...but that was about it.

Sharon, Brendan, Christine

This is Brendan...Sharon told him that she was suprised how well he was doing for himself and very impressed because she didn't think he "would amount to much"! ha ha...I couldn't believe she told him that. He has done well...he never went to college..but he owns a couple of houses and a bunch of stores and I don't know what else. He's doing good! What I remember Brendan for....well - he taught me a dirty word when we were in elementary school. And to this day..anytime I hear his name that is what I remember about him! I told him that at the reunion. He laughed. And he was proud.

Melissa and Me

It was so much fun to see Melissa! She is one of the few people I kept in touch with somewhat well (by that I mean....maybe once a year...sometimes twice a year) since high school.

Good ol' RVR...So my high school actually doesn't exists anymore. Which is sad. It's another all French school with a different name. So - we didn't have the reunion there since it has changed so much. But the people that planned the reunion managed to get some old RVR stuff.

Nick, Sylvie, Christine

It's weird to think about how much time I used to spend with these people and how I never see or talk to them anymore. Life is like that though. You make friends...great friends...and then end up going seperate ways...and make new friends again. And as much as you want to keep the close relationships going..it's never quite the same. It was GREAT to see so many old friends again...And a part of me wishes I could have more reunions with other friends that I've gone my seperate ways with.

Oh...and for all you Americans - we graduate in 11th grade in Quebec. So - I'm a year younger than you all are thinking. :)

Summertime

So - obviously you've noticed that my blogging skills have lacked for pretty much all of the summer. That is thanks to (drum roll please) my fantastic job as a freaking tax accountant which likes to suck all my summer away.

I spent most of my summer travelling. Detroit and then Chicago. It wasn't until about mid-september that the travelling slowed down. In fact, I'm pretty much back to not travelling at all. And do I dare admit that I'm almost missing it...there are definitely both pros and cons to travelling.

Anyway - I did do a few things this summer that I was actually able to document with some pictures...so instead of going back and telling you about all of them which would take me forever..I decided to throw the pictures into a slide show. Some are from Chicago, some are from Montreal, some are from when Myra and Amy came to NY...just a little of everything. Enjoy!

Good times! :)

Dear Emily...

I made a promise almost 2 months ago that I wouldn't post anything on my blog unless it was about Emily. My dear friend Emily feels like anytime I see her I end up getting busy and not posting anything about our encounters! So this post is dedicated entirely to her.

I absolutely LOVE Emily! She is one of my most favoritest people! So..of course I had to go to her wedding this summer! YES - another wedding (oh..and it was not the last of the weddings I attended). Lucky for me...I was travelling for work so I was able to get a great deal on a plane ticket (Great Deal = FREE).

I stayed with Heather and Nicole for the weekend which was so much fun. We all (including Jana) drove up to Park City the night before the big day to go to Emily's Shower/Bachelorette party. It was definitely more like a shower until my Blue Boutique gift bag showed up to add a little spice to the little get together! Oh...I can't even tell you how priceless it was to watch Emily open that! I was laughing so hard I was in tears! :)

The next day was the wedding! Emily looked beautiful. John looked great. The ceremony was amazing..and I just LOVED, LOVED, LOVED how happy Emily was. She had a smile from ear to ear the ENTIRE day! It was yet another fabulous mini-reunion with all the girls from Elms 208! I love all of those girls and love that I get to see them somewhat often considering I live accross the country from them. (Thank you BYU recruiting trips).

So - My dear Emily...Here is your Blog entry! Can I post something else now? :)
