Golf Clubs

I am SO excited because this weekend I bought myself some golf clubs!!! I not really a golf club expert...I just wanted a starter set. I also wanted graphite shafts. So I found this set at Dicks Sporting goods for about $150 (yeah - the same I spent on a freaking car key!). Here's a picture of my new clubs...

I also got some golf shoes! How fun! :) Now all I need is my glove and I'm good to go! :)

Just about everyone I've told that I bought myself some golf clubs looks at me kind of funny and says "Do you even know how to Golf?" The answer....um. Yeah! Ok - so i'm not a pro or anything...but I took a class at BYU and went quite a few times that year. I didn't go much last year, but that was becauseI didn't have any golf clubs to play with! Now I do! So - my goal for the summer is to go as often as I can!

Hhmmmm...Slurpee!!!

Car Keys are Expensive

Umm.....yeah. It's true. I lost my keys. One minute they were in my pocket..the next they weren't. I looked everywhere and back tracked my steps for what felt like a million times....I asked everyone that I saw on the street I had been walking on - but the keys were no where. The Solution? I thought all I would have to do is call the car rental place and they would bring me a new key...but Nope! Apparently they don't keep extra copies! They want the customer to "take more responsibility" for their keys! So after being towed to the dealership and $150 later...I had a brand new key made for my Subaru Outback!

This is what $150 dollars worth of keys look like...

And this is the car these expensive keys opened....

The tow truck driver was really friendly - I hopped in his truck and the first thing he asked me was "You from Utah?" My reply "Nope". His response "Thank God! Me neither!" He was so relieved. Hmmm....kind of makes you wonder why he lives there if he's not such a big fan.

Anyway - This all happened last weekend when I was in Utah for yet another recruiting trip...! Besides the rough start to my trip, I had a lot of fun. The weather was beautiful! Saturday morning I played tennis outside with Emily and I was even hot and it made me so excited for summer! It was great. Saturday afternoon was the recruiting event and we took about 300 or so BYU accounting students up to Utah Olympic Park.....Some people went on this raft down a ski slope....and others went down the zipline.

This picture was taken by a USA today camera guy that was there (there was an article in Monday's USAToday that mentioned the event)! I didn't actually go on the raft....I decided to go on the zipline and didn't have time to do both. I've been surprised at how many people have asked me what a zipline is....so for those of you that don't know....

Here is a picture (from the internet...I didn't bring my camera with me!)...It looked like this except the hill was covered in snow..

You basically sit in this harness thing and hang from a cable and go fast down the side of the ski slope. It was SO much fun! Apparently it is the "world's steepest Zipline!"

It was a quick trip...flew in Friday (ate at Cafe Rio), went to the event on Saturday(after eating at Cafe Rio again), and flew back on Sunday. Oh....and when I dropped off my rental car - I opened up the glove compartment box thingy...and guess what I found!? yeah..and EXTRA key!!! Lame! Oh well...

My trip started with bad luck...and it kind of ended it bad luck...cause when I got back to JFK airport in NYC I found my car surrounded by ice. While I was enjoying the nice 70 degree weather in Utah...NY decided to have a snow storm. To make a long story short....after getting the ice off my windshield, and trying and trying and trying to get my car out of the ice it was in (and just when the parking lot security people called a tow truck to get me out)....I finally managed to get it out and made it home at almost 3 am! I was just happy I didn't have to be towed twice in 1 weekend! What an adventure...
